net and I’m here in the lab to give you guys a quick review video of the new auto Black 18 sub-professional powered subwoofer so before I begin you guys will notice we’re in some pretty new surroundings here. This is the second room that we have for the lab we’ll be bringing new performance videos different review videos and maybe even some tutorials right here from this very spot. So this is actually my bar and we converted this into like a UK table so we UK from the back of the bar. We also get it in with the drinks here from time and time again, but this is the perfect place for me to review. These speakers.
This Is The Black 18 Sub Its
a powered subwoofer. It Subwoofer it has a 2400 watts peak power handling rating and it has a 22 1200 watt UK watt handling rating and it is a built-in-powered amplifier. So this has a really really good construction. First impressions are very very good. It’s solid wood all the way through you have very big solid steel handles on the sides.
You Also Have Steel Reinforced Rubber Feet On
the bottom and there’s also indents on the top of the cabinet so that you can stack these and you can stack them together. This is very professional quality equipment here. The price kind of reflects that this is a step up from the UK line that we’ve reviewed some years ago from alto professional. This is leaps and bounds above the UK line it’s a bit better in almost every way imaginable. There is a solid steel cover on the front.
Its An 18-Inch Woofer And This Steel
cover is also reinforced with a power coating paint that way it’s. It’s not easy to scratch and it won’t easily respond to abrasiveness. There’s also a coating across the entire cabinet. The coating is nice texture to it so that way you can’t get scratches and abrasions again. If you’re buying this you’re spending over a thousand dollars for it you’re going to want it to last you a little bit more time.
So Alto Is Good With The Construction
quality to make sure that this is going to last. You guys a little bit longer than ever next up is the sound quality The sound quality on this 18-inch, soft / subwoofer is phenomenal. It really really bangs. It really bumps it really rumbles and rattles and it is all really really controlled at the same time you have. very very deep punchy bass I wish I had other subwoofers here so that I can compare it accurately to the other big top main brands that also cost around the same range.
But I Dont So I Wont
be able to do that comparison unless you really have them side by side but all in all really deep really penetrating bass it’s a very very serious contender. I one of the tops that we’ve used. I will compare it to probably the Sherwin Vega that we recently also reviewed the Punch series. It’s very very close in terms of impact rating-to that subwoofer but other than that the sound quality is really phenomenal. It will bump and blast for hours and hours on end without any quit in it it never popped and never hissed and never gave out on us and it doesn’t have any wrong.
Wrong Feedback To It You Know
like some subwoofers out there they Rumble well past the time that they’re supposed to rumble. This is a very controlled subwoofer Very high quality. Everything feels really solid and really well-made inside and out so let’s take a quick look at the back of the device. So that way we can see all of the inputs outputs and the UK options that are here on the 18s okay so here is the rear panel we’ll do a quick walkthrough of everything you see here. We have the level knob.
This Little Change Of The Level
of your 18 subs like a gain knob and there’s also a polarity button. That way you can change the polarity to make it sound different depending on the acoustics of your room or the different speakers. You have paired with this you also have two combo input. These are quarter-inch UK combo and you also have two UK outputs as well and then you have a crossover bypass switch. So that way you can change the parameters of whether or not you have a straight-through or a bypass type crossover.

Next You Have Your Lot Drive Button.
This button will allow you to pair your UK device your UK or your UK in order to change the different settings and levels of the speaker itself. All of the Black Series, speakers and subwoofers have this same feature. There’s also a black 15 sub available and then there’s also the two-way speakers in 10-inch 12-inch and 15-inch configuration again. You press the button you pair it via bluetooth to your UK device.
You Run The App And Then Youll Be
able to control things like your levels and your UK modes next up is. Mode this will allow you to change the different frequency response characteristics 80 Hertz, hundred Hertz, 120 Hertz or 140 Hertz or a custom mode which can be changed with the live Drive next up. You have a ground on and off. Depending on whether or not your speaker is having hum or grounding issues you turn that on or off and then you have your standard power connection here on the back and also your power switch okay so in conclusion the alto Professional 18s black series subwoofer is a really really good subwoofer.
You Have This Very Solid Construction As We
touched on earlier. You have that great punchy bass that it won’t let you down that will perform for hours and hours on end. You also have that live app that you can use on your UK device to control the UK crossover, which is also a really nice sounding crossover. Everything sounds really good coming out of the subwoofer and going into the subwoofer and everything is accurately reproduced because of that UK you also have the two inputs and two outputs on the back and it’s a very well made construction.
Everything Is Really Solid On The Downside.
You have the price point which is again above $1000 you’re looking at usually around $1200 each for the 18s and you’re gonna pay to play there’s other top brands that have similar quality that are of the same price. But there are others that are sub 1000 that will be cheaper that can still get the job done. Of course it might not get it done in the same quality, but it’s worth.
Mentioning That This Is One Of The
higher end of the price spectrum when it comes to subwoofers also on the downside, but it’s like inherent with any subwoofer that’s 18 inches. It’s a big massive subwoofer. It’s big it’s heavy its bulky you’re probably not going to want to lug this around in and out to many places you will like it for your permanent installation, but if you’re a mobile UK guy you know what it is you’re going to need to lug this around with you whether you like it or not, but it is heavy.
