seats are milk crates are much lighter what’s up guys I’ve had some ridiculous sound systems over the years, So when I got the ranger I was looking for a way to give the factory sound system a bit of an extra kick now. I’d seen some people online build up some pretty awesome subwoofer enclosures that replaced the factory back seats in these space cabs, but I didn’t really want to have to sacrifice my back seats because they do come in handy from time to time so how do you base in a ute like this without sacrificing cabin space Let me show you meet the kicker hideaway. This is an eight-inch 150 watt RMs subwoofer and amplifier all in an enclosure that just fits under my driver’s seat and I mean just fits too because there’s probably less than. millimeter clearance between the top of the subwoofer and the underside of the seat when it’s installed to run one of these you Don’t even need to upgrade your factory head unit because the wiring harness it comes with taps into the left and right speaker channels of your existing stereo. I was a bit skeptical at how well it was going to be able to extract the bass from those left and right speaker channels, but to be honest.

It Does A Pretty Good Job.

It comes with a base adjustment knob that you can install anywhere to adjust the base as well as having a bunch of adjustments on the unit itself, so it’s small enough to fit under your seat comes with everything you need including wiring. Doesn’t require an aftermarket head unit to run and has enough adjustments to set the base just the way you. want it that’s all well and good, but none of that really matters If it doesn’t sound any good so how does it sound well keeping in mind how small it is compared to a traditional sub-and amp. It’s unbelievable how much bass this thing puts out UK so it’s pretty impossible to demonstrate bass through a video, but is it as bassy as a full-sized stubborn amp no is it close absolutely it probably puts out a similar amount of bass to an entry-level sub-amp combo or maybe a little bit less and for something that takes up that amount of space.

I Reckon Thats Just Awesome One Potential Drawback

is they are a little bit pricey. I was lucky enough to get mine on sale about a year ago for 350 dollars, but the going rate seems to be 430, but I suppose for your money you. sub an amp and some wiring so maybe it’s not too bad. Something probably worth mentioning is that since I bought this kik has actually released a new version with a 10-inch sub. Instead of this 8-inch sub, but it retails for close to 600.

Theres Also Plenty Of Other Brands Out There

in the market that make something pretty similar to this. I know Kenwood makes one pioneer makes one that’s actually a little bit cheaper so check out what’s out there and find something that’s right for you. I know the pioneer version is actually a little bit smaller than the kicker. It’s about a centimeter shorter, and I think it’s smaller in the other dimensions as well.

So If Youre Pressed For Space That Might
