An overview of the tropo 8-inch woofer rated at 400 watts RMs. We have the strato a and the mesoa here for comparison, so you guys can see where this fits into the lineup. This is our entry level eight-inch woofer and it’s one of our best selling whiffers for a variety of reasons which we’re about to get into alrighty so to kick things off. We’re utilizing a high narrow foam surround and a three percent carbon fiber reinforced cone.

What makes this subwoofer so unique is that it utilizes a two-inch voice coil, whereas a lot of other subwoofers in this power class utilize a two and a half-inch voice coil what we discovered. In our R D process is that the two-inch voice coil actually allowed us to have more spider landing space than with a two-and a half-inch voice coil, so that this subwoofer could perform well at its rated 400 watts power, Whereas with the two and a half-inch voice coil we discovered that the subwoofer didn’t play efficiently and actually destroyed itself. So we’re utilizing a two-inch voice coil.
