My Kenwood Ksc Sw 11 Eight And

a quarter by five and an eighth subwoofer has served me well and fits perfectly in the small space under the passenger seat, but I want to see if I can fit something larger. I’m gonna test out the Kenwood KsC PsW8 eight inch subwoofer the same remote and combined power and speaker inputs on my existing sub are going to be the same on the new one, making upgrading for me plug and play. The new sub is 13 and three quarters by two and fifteen sixteenths by nine and seven sixteenths in size. It’s about an inch too wide to slide under as is because of the metal tab here you can see it better if I pop the plastic cover off. This means I’ll have to slide it in lengthwise instead before trying to fit the subwoofer under the seat.

I Had To Move This Cable Out Of

the way. It used to be clipped in here and hung down underneath. I squeezed the back of the clip together and pushed it out so I could move it up here Instead. I should be able to tuck the harnesses up and out of the way and now I have extra clearance underneath something else to consider when sizing up a subwoofer is the seat slider bar because of the 45-degree angle on the ends. It reduces the usable width to around nine and a half inches with the subwoofer in place.

You Can See How Little Clearance I Have

anything wider and you would have to set it further back and can lose up to two and a half inches of depth. I’ve done some test fitting so now I’m going to add some velcro here to keep this. sub from moving around I’m also adding some to the front here. The velcro on the bottom is going to sit on the carpet edge here. While the velcro here will help keep the front of the sub-lifted up so it’s parallel to the underside of the seat.

Once In Place You Should Have This Level

gap underneath you can probably wedge something under the front for the same effect. It’s important for the sub to be level or the seat will hit it one final fitment note is that the carpeted flap here may get caught on the subwoofer when sliding the seat forward. It’s a minor annoyance, but shouldn’t be an issue. It’ll fix itself when you slide the seat back again.

I Have My Cutover Set To 50

hertz and the face at 180 degrees I’m going to test it using two tracks from Youtube‘s audio. Library, so I avoid getting copyright flagged anyone sitting in the passenger seat will definitely feel the base and now something new is rattling around and back okay Let’s try a different track with more bass. So this sub is 150 watts RMs, which is twice the power of the other one and has a peak of 250 watts that’s definitely louder than my other sub, and it should get better. Once I get my new DsP and I can time align all the speakers and set proper crossovers aside from discovering new rattles to fix.

Im Extremely Happy With This Upgrade.

This is probably the maximum sized sub that you’ll be able to stick under the seat without any issues. It’s definitely a tight fit as you can see where the seat rubbed on the top here. I highly recommend this for anyone wanting fuller sound in their TC.

Without Sacrificing Space Or Adding A Lot Of

weight. The sound quality is fantastic and it works great with the TC’s Interior i’ll include a link to the subwoofer in the video description below. If you haven’t hit subscribe to my channel yet please do so now and as always thank you for watching.
