Amazon smart digital assistants and smart speakers devices like the dot, the Echo plus or even the Amazon echo spot here. You may be wondering how you can get more out of it. The intelligence in these devices is obvious, but for some who really love their music. You might find the overall speaker and music quality lacking when compared to bigger and more powerful speakers. Amazon now has a solution and that’s the Amazon echo sub here.

Calm and echo sub is a powerful subwoofer. You can connect to your echo device to deliver better bass and dynamic lower end audio quality. I had a chance to test out and review the sub here in my home for a few weeks but before we dive in if you like this video please hit that like button. And give me a sub since it does help me keep making more videos like these Amazon Echo Sub is a dedicated subwoofer for the echo lineup of devices. It’s made to deliver downward firing bass and you’ll get a hundred watts of sound through a six-inch woofer.

The Large Cylinder Is Big About

eight inches by eight inches and it’s pretty weighty coming in at just over nine pounds, giving you confidence it can deliver on sound quality by the way. In this video we’re not going to get into the basics of what an Amazon Echo is and how it works so if you need a primer click the link in the top corner or I’ll post my review below getting this device set up is really simple. You’ll plug it in then go to your Alexa app for UK or Android and add the new device. My sub connected to my phone and then to my home’s UK in seconds and was ready to go. Then if you’ve got more than one echo device, you can choose which one to connect the sub to if you’re wondering if your sub will connect to more than one echo device.

The Answer Is Yes And No.

If you have a compatible echo device that you’re able to link as a stereo pair using left and right channels, then yes you’re technically connecting to more than one device, but if you want to use your sub with say your echo plus in the living room and the echo in the bedroom. The answer is kind of no you’ll still need to choose just one device to link to. I did try to connect it to more than one device and though in one case it showed me that it was connected to a second device. When I play music from second device.

I Wasnt Getting Any Sound Out

of the sub. Now it’s important to note that the sub is only configured for music playback it doesn’t support video though you may still hear some sound coming from it now if you want more details about exactly which echo speakers. The sub here is compatible with head over to tech gadgets, Canada Comm and I’ve got a list posted there so how does the echo sub sound does it make a difference. I tried the echo sub with my second generation Amazon echo plus speaker in my living room for several. weeks and I can definitely say it makes a noticeable difference.

I Was Struggling To Show You

guys though how much of a difference this makes or even that it was working at all. Then I remembered that scene in Jurassic Park, where they can feel the incoming dinosaur before they see it so voila here’s what the subs bass looks like. While my echo plus sounds just fine for the size and type of speaker that it is adding the sub gives it much more dimension and depth. Of course that’s low-end only, but since the sub is designed to sit on the floor of the room, it helps to spread the vibrations around the area, delivering a much more immersive and dynamic experience.

Id Say The Sub Adds A Lot

to the echo Plus, though the sub cost one hundred and sixty-nine Canadian dollars on top of. One forty-nine you might already be spending on the plus so are there better all-in-one smart audio solutions out there for about three hundred bucks. It’s kind of hard to say the nearest option might be the Google Home MAcs and I’ll post that review here as well and that’s going to set you back about 450 or 500 bucks. There’s also the Sonos one for about two hundred and fifty and the Apple Home Pod, which is about 450 Canadian but I don’t think those are going to deliver quite as much bass as the sub and plus pairing wood.

However, These Units May Indeed Provide

a more balanced overall sound that we may now be comparing thoroughbreds two llamas here overall I really like having the Amazon echo sub in the house. I think it takes a smart speaker I already like and makes it sound even. It delivers definitely on audio quality, but is it worth that extra cost well that is up to you and your particular budget? The Amazon echo sub sells for about 169 Canadian dollars. It’s available from Amazon not surprisingly if you want to read more or have any questions head over to tech Gadgets Canada.
