Hey Guys Hows It Going Its Blade Again From

cardio security and today we’re looking at the brand new Kenwood KsC PsW7 eq okay so the KsC PsW7 eq. What do we have here so This is a brand new first in the country active underseat subwoofer from Kenwood Now. This is basically a revised model of their best seller. The SW 11, which is slightly smaller now what we’ll do is We’ll compare the two later on in the video but for now let’s open up the box and see what we get inside. We’ll go from there okay, so we have the contents of the box open here so let’s go through what we’ve got so first of all the most important part is your instructions make sure you read through these so if you get stuck, you know what you’re doing second of all we have a high level input plug.

So This Is Rca Input To The

main harness and then it’s speaker cable in so if you’re using a factory head unit or you don’t have RCa’s for whatever reason this will take a high level speak to signal in and it also has signal sensing now This is your main power loom. This has your permanent live your remote and your earth as well as your RCa outputs and then you have your remote. So this is the plug-in remote to run to the front of the vehicle, so you can adjust the base. We’ll take a closer look at that. In a second, we have your mounting screws a little mounting bracket to hold down your wires and the mounting brackets itself to hold this the speaker itself and then we have the woofer itself now.

I Know What Most People Are Going

to be asking why would you need something like this now the reason why purely is for the fact that most cars won’t come with a subwoofer in there you’re going to be lacking a lot of that depth and what most people will try and do is try and push the bass up out of their door. And what happens then is you get so much distortion when you turn the volume up now what this allows you to do is not take up loads of space in the boot. You’re not ever going to really see it, but it allows you to get bass out of this, which then in turn means that you don’t need to push base out the door speakers which then in turn means you get better quality out of your door speakers at higher volume, so it’s a win-win scenario really okay so let’s have a look at the suburb for itself so it as you can see it’s a very compact size very very small, so it’s you’re able to put it underneath this seat or behind the seat or anywhere you can to give base in your car but in terms of the driver itself so this is an. Inch driver, but it’s not your typical round subwoofer. It’s a rectangular shape.

Now This Is Made So That

it can be as small as possible, but give you as much bass as possible. Now it’s slightly bigger than the last one again. I’ll show you the side by side so you can see the comparison, but it’s going to give you a bit more power a bit more bass and that nice deep bass that you’ll be looking for now on the back of the sub itself. All you have is your main plug input which is your power, remote and earth and your Rca inputs and then you have your remote input. It’s as simple as that there’s nothing really else to it you can’t really get it wrong and then you would literally just fix it down to wherever you’re going to fit it and away you.

Go The Spec On This Power

wise you’re looking at 160 watts of power. So it’s a little bit more than what you got from the last model, which is here the SW11 and as you can see if we do a side by side. You can actually see that the driver itself is bigger than last year’s model right but the actual size of it It’s not too much bigger, so the driver is 15 bigger than the last model and the actual physical size. I think is roughly 10 mil wider, but other than that a little bit thicker. There’s not really much much to it as you can see really not a lot to it so what that’s going to ensure is that you’re getting the maximum amount of bass and taking up the least amount of space okay.

  • psw7

So Let Me Show You Now The

accessories. up close and we’ll explain them a little bit further for you so the first thing I want to show you is the controller, so how this differs from the last model is the main part is this switch here Okay so this switch here is their active eQ switch, so what it does is essentially changes how the eQ is set on the subwoofer to give you more or less or a cleaner output. So you have a heavy flat and tight switch so you have three settings. The heavy is going to give you the most amount of low frequency. More aggressive bass The flat is your standard as it would come out the factory out of the box space and then tight is going to be a more more punchy, more clean more sound quality bias frequency setup.

Obviously You Do Have Your Volume On

the top. Here turn it up and down? You have your frequency, which is going to change how where the frequency cuts in and off at and then you have the phase switch so that’s the controller. Obviously it then runs on a flat wire which makes installation nice and easy to an ethernet-style cable which as I showed you plugs into the bottom of the sub itself. Okay so let’s have a look at the main wires now so on to my left here we have your main power loom so this is an eight-pin plug, which is as i’ve shown you the main plug in the back of the stereo back of the sub sorry. We have your Rcas.

This Is A Short Extension With Two

female RCas, so then you could run a pair or RCas up to the your head unit if you’ve changed your head. unit into the sub output of that? Then we have your main power which is your permanent live so that’s labeled Bats for battery. You have a fuse internally inside here that’s your main fuse and then you just want to put probably a ringtone or something on that to go around your battery and then we have your blue wire, which is your remote so that’s a remote for your aftermarket stereo the blue wire off that back of that stereo is going to allow this to turn on and off when your stereo turns on and off. You have the black wire, which is an earth so you want to earth to the chassis of the vehicle not back to the battery to the chassis, so a nice solid chassis Earth is going to give you everything you need for this the high level input loom as you. Can see it actually has RCa’s on it so that’s the plug to this loom.

These Plug Together Like That And

then you have a front left and a front right input. So it needs to be a full range signal, but this allows you to if you have a vehicle. You haven’t changed your head unit on or you can’t change a head unit on you can use a speaker level signal in and this also has signal sensing. This allows you to turn the stereo on once this senses a signal coming through it will turn the sub-amp on so everything will turn on and off as it needs to you don’t need to do anything else okay so now I think what we’ll do now let’s take this outside we’ll try out a few vehicles we’ll show you it fitted see if it sits under a seat. A little cubby hole where we can fit it and we’ll go from there Okay so let’s try test fitting this in a few different cars.

Lets Start Off With A Nice Big

car Bw Tiguan let’s have a look okay so I think on this car rather than it fitting from behind this one actually fits very nicely from in front it slides in there perfectly actually lovely fit in there to be honest and you can still slide this seat forward and backwards No problem okay so let’s check the second car now BMw E36 let’s check if it fits okay so bring the seat forward okay so just about fits in there snug but I think what you’ll find yeah it will sit back but the seat position is going to have to be quite high. I think I don’t think you’ve got much height to come. down just because of the electrics in these particular seats in other seats. These are Vader seats so these quite rare anyway but other seats. I think you might be okay.

You Just Drop It Down Slightly

but yeah all good. I think okay so the third and final car to check the sub in is a gia yaris now. This is the boss man’s Giarris Now we’ve already actually done a video on changing the speakers in this now something like this on this heat Sub is definitely going to be a good option. Because this being a performance car. You’re not going to want to add too much weight, especially if you’re going to be tracking it, but if you do want a nice sound upgrade This is definitely a good option.

So Follow Me Oh Wow Look

at the space under here for a tiny car you’ve. got more than enough room you could probably fit two of these in here plenty of room. We just noticed as well look at that red stitching matching the sub-looks brilliant that’s pretty much it from me make sure you check this out be on our website at currentlysecurity. com and also our sister company the Tuning Store um make sure you like share and subscribe we will see you in the next video you.
