of car lab Today We’re gonna be doing a subwoofer test. So the other day I had a customer stop by in the back of his car. He had a set of scar Audio 6-inch woofers in a box and I said hey man where did you get that he says I got it from scar. I said in the box and everything and he said Yeah and I was like cool now. I’m not the biggest fan of small driver enclosures, but this one intrigued me so I call up my buddy Shane that works at scar audio.

I Said Hey Man What Are We Gonna

do to get one of these I’m gonna try it out. He says ok we’ll send you a sample just be nice don’t break them because we want them back so they brought them. Over here we got him to play with today Let’s take a look so The full model number is the scar UK 65 D 2 times 2 ske and C65 vented charcoal. Of course that’s the website now comes assembled in the box paper. These were taped on me I’m taking of course what this is to cover the two woofers.

a closer look so what we have is two Evl six and a half’s dual boys coils. The box itself is 24 by ten and a half inches tall by fourteen inches deep port. Inside of it is 18 square into opening and 23 inches long, tuned to 39 Hertz. The baffle that the subwoofers are mounted in is one inch thick and the rest of the wood is 3/4. The net air space is 1.

we could take things like UK amplifiers, subwoofers and interchange them quickly so that we can test them. We have some permanent fixtures in the lab meeting. We have amplifiers that stay in all the time and of course we have barrier strips and fun stuff. of-I can’t wait to hear this thing especially in a car we’re gonna go ahead and fire up our UK ta because it has an UK meter I’ve so we can see what kind of UK we’re getting out of this thing Alright Alright so I’m gonna grab the UK ta alright full disclaimer not an UK guy. I’ve never competed in UK world. I don’t know anything about what U UK guys consider Mic placement loud off. Loud off the windshield in the back up someone’s ear. I don’t know anything about that what we got going on here is the audio control microphone.

Its Set Right Here By The Gear Shifter.

I have the UK ta right here the microphone gain input is set to 0 UK. So for whatever it’s worth at least what we’re doing at this point is we’re gonna be setting a baseline so moving forward when we do our tests. We’ll have an idea of where everything is at we know we have our microphone touching the gear shifter. This is extended all the way up will at least know when we do this again where we were what we got results wise makes sense makes sense so we’re gonna play a 40 Hertz 0 UK track and then we’ll play some music all right so as you can see it.

So with this test we hit about 118 hmm not bad total six and a half four to six and a half. I know Alright it’s pretty crazy yeah Now there again we have nothing to base it on We haven’t done this test before because we haven’t had access to the UK UK to do the UK test it’s something we’re gonna be doing going forward. So we can have an idea of what things are and what not we wanna rock this for a couple days. He does yeah he wants to rock this for a couple days.
