here with Keith from Kenwood and today we’re going to show you how to transform your car’s standard audio system in about an hour. Keith what’s the best way of doing this with our new undersea active subwoofer cool well let’s get to it so this is new from Kenwood, so it’s an under seat sub is that right so it is indeed so these are really popular at the moment because people are deciding to upgrade their cars and these fit onto standard systems. So you might not be able to change the radio, but you can fit one of these or if you’ve got an aftermarket radio you can fit one of these as well so the main event yep that’s the beast itself so amplifiers built into it and then it’s got a 20-by 13 centimeter speaker um so. That is the whole unit that you would sit ultimately anywhere in the car, but normally under a seat passenger or driver to increase the the base basically nice bit of kit that’s nice very nice pop that in there and then with it a very important feature comes with this rather cool little controller um which plugs in so you could have that you know mounted wherever or in a glove box or cubby hole allows you to control the volume and the base and it’s also got an equalizer on it so you can change it from heavy to flat so different music types, but also if you’re on the phone. You want to knock the base down or you’ve got kids in the car or you’ve had a long day you know you’re not always in full honor yeah it’s not not always a pie so.

This is as you see a smaller thinner cable much easier to run, but because it’s an efficient amplifier. It doesn’t need big power so you can take the power from behind the head unit Cigar lighter anywhere in the car that you can find find alive so okay so that should be quite easy to tuck up and it’s all over the trimming yeah and it’s all clearly labeled as well, so you know okay well let’s get this in the car. Even if you’re a little bit new to doing things like this so now we’re going to literally flick it on see what it sounds like yep so in standard golf standard door speakers most people whack the base up on their head units so with this it allows you to turn the base down a bit so you’re not driving your speakers too hard. You’re not distorting them. You can turn the volume up and they’ll sing and then you fill in the bass with the under seats up so let’s have a little listen.

oh, but I mean yeah phenomenal night and day it just lifts the sound stage makes it feel more dynamic. It’s you can see why they’re popular yeah and you can adjust the bass If you’re on a call or don’t want the bass you knock it out or you bring it back in really tune the sound fantastic Yeah considering that it’s a standard head unit standard speakers as you’re saying just one extra little sub in the car Yeah that’s brilliant for the value and the size and the speed of fit it’s it’s a must-have.
